Jamie McCabe: Barn Manager, Instructor, Director of Winter and Summer Vacation Programs
Jamie began riding at Liberty Hill with Kelly at age 10. Over past the 12 years her quiet dedication to becoming the best horsewoman she could be, became apparent, as did her loyalty to Liberty Hill. As a young teenager, Jamie became involved as a working student and helped with show grooming, barn chores and everything else in between. With her solid foundation and detailed education she could work anywhere…but we are very blessed to have her right here with us. After college, Jamie decided to dedicate her full time as Manager of the stable and Liberty Hill horses, Instructing and directing the winter and summer vacation programs. She has a wonderful way with children and teaching timid beginners “the ins and outs of all things horsey” are her specialty. She quietly encourages trust between instructor, child and pony which creates the bond that makes riding a magical experience.
Rachel holds a bachelor’s degree in Equine Management from Mount Ida College and has been riding in the hunters and equitation for over 12 years. During that time she has had the privilege of riding with Carl Catani, Nancy Ciesluk, Krisanna Onorato and Jennifer Dow Olsen. Rachel apprenticed under Jennifer Olsen for three years and has most recently worked as the barn manager for Nancy Ciesluk.
Rachel specializes in young and green horses, with a focus on developing the relationship between horse and rider. She is currently bringing along her 5 year old hunter prospect, Last Call.
Katarina (“KT”) Tatten
KT has been a part of Liberty Hill since the age of 10 when she arrived to start riding lessons. Like Jamie, she has stayed with Liberty Hill, working her way up the ranks from beginner to working off show expenses as a working student. Continuing to ride and work here through her college years, she assists with stable management on weekends and oversees special events throughout the year such as field trips, winter sledding and our annual Autumn Festival. When she is not here, KT is studying medicine and touring the world as she is a concert pianist and violinist. She recently returned from performing in Europe at Buckingham Palace! Bravo KT!
